Where did all the action go?
It has moved out, and can now be found justletme.be/twam. Oh yeah, and there is a new episode of TWaM podcast! And quite a few new posts in the blog – so head over, and be a part of it! :-)
NaNoWriMo 2006 Book
My 2006 NaNoWriMo book, which is titled “Flugt”, is now available from this website. I’ve decided to publish it in PDF, 261 pages (A5 european standard pages), and it contains approximately 51.500 words. I wrote this thing in 12 days, so don’t expect something epic.
But its there, its a story, and its done. That was the goals I pursued. And I succeeded with it. All bliss and joy. Hallelujah!
Let me just point out, that this book is written in danish, and I don’t have any translations planned. So if you can’t rad in danish – then you’ll miss out(?) on this little baby. For those of you, who do read danish; here comes an excerpt:
På afkørselsrampen havde alt pludselig været kaos, da to patruljevogne havde spærret vejen ind i rundkørslen, og 3-4 civile havde taget plads bag ham, så retræte var umuligt. Han havde egentlig ikke tænkt så meget, bare revet ratten hårdt mod højre, og ladet hans udtjente BMW hoppe hen over kløften i rabatten, og fortsætte ind over marken. Han forbandede for Gud ved hvilken gang, at han ikke havde lejet en bil, som han plejede.
John is a courier, smuggling narcotics and other contraband over the german-danish border. He is set up, but is lucky enough to escape the police. Now the chase starts, all the way from Denmark and down trough Germany, until he finally gets to Prague, where he hides with a girl he meets.

Safari 3 beta is out
Yesterday Apple sent out a press release regarding Safari 3 Beta:
”Apple® today announced that more than 1 million copies of Safari™ for Windows were downloaded in the first 48 hours since the free public beta was made available on Monday. Safari 3 is the world’s fastest and easiest-to-use browser, and is available as a free download at www.apple.com/safari.”
That is pretty doggone impressive. I am going to rant&ramble a bit about Safari 3, in the next TWaM podcast (in danish), so if you speak danish, keep an eye out for that, too.
TWaM Podcast
The first two episodes of TWaM podcast is ready for download. So what is this all about? Apple and macs, Techie stuff, apple, gadgets, mac, computers and of course some Apple and Mac related stuff.
Please note that this podcast is danish!
For now, I’ve placed it at PodcastPeople, but since they boost my files with 500% and have a 100MB limit a month, I can’t really use them in the long run. So now I need to find a good and decent (and free) service, where I can post my podcast episodes in the future.
But go ahead and listen to TWaM podcast or grab it directly from iTunes Store right here.
MS vs. Apple Keynotes
So we all just saw the Apple Keynote now lets compare with that from Microsoft; I give you American Ido…. no wait! Microsoft keynote!
I feel a bit Nauseous!
Long time no blog
Whoa! It’s been more than a year since I last went to my blog! That is definitely a long time, and I am surprised that I have done totally without a blog for almost 4 months. Actually longer, since I haven’t blogged since december 2006. Well, I’m back in the game – at least for now.. so look out for more blog posts to come – mainly about Apple and all that jazz. Ciao.
Something about D600
Today is my last early shift at work. From now it should be a piece of cake, first coming in, around noon. And saturday my vacation starts! This is so good.
It is not like we’ve anything planned for next week at all, but I reckon some quality time with the kids and Jane would be appropriate. Also I have a few projects of my own to maintain online, and I need to get more familiar with the features of the cell phone I bought this monday – a Samsung D600.
It is a very cool gadget, with lots and lots of great features and possibilities. The commercial running on tv really caps it in; output to your tv (great for showing everybody a short video, or an excel spreadsheet), output to the stereo (this is WAY cool! Deep and melodious (does this word exist?) MP3 playback in surround – in your phone.
Other than that the more obvious things like the speakers (yup, there is true stereo built-in), the extremely bright and crystal clear screen (320x240px in 1.4″ with a very high contrast makes is no problem at all, to use neither indoor nor outdoor, with direct sunlight.
Another thing that is great – and in fact has been undergoing a huge overhaul, compared to its precessor D500 is the software bundled. The Samsung PC Studio has evolved to 3.0 and sports a great interface, simple setup of everything. I have my cell phone and laptop connected through bluetooth, and it’s connected all the time, while I am home. The most impressive is, that it hasn’t disconnected even once, no matter where in our apartment (only 350 SF though).
Also the built-in 2 megapixel camera deserves mentioning. Compared to all other cell phone cameras I have tried (and there has been a lot, since this is what I work with), it is insanely great. Again, it’s not even comparable with the D500.
Of course there are some drawbacks, and even though I wont go in to a pro/con list, I still want to run through these. The camera isn’t protected as on the D500 – here it’s placed on the backside of the phone. Perhaps you remember the D500, that had it on the backside of the sliding part, ensuring that it was away, while carrying the phone in the pocket. Also the small amount of built in memory (only 72MB) is a main disadvantage. On the other hand, Samsung has ensured that you can expand memory, if needed, some of the real bad things about the D500. Using MicroSD cards, it’s possible to add another 512 MB storage.
Syncronization is a bliss. I use Microsoft Outlook 2003 and when I click Syncronization in the Samsung PC studio controlpanel, it comes up, suggesting my mail program, and I can mark what should be syncronized. Mails, appointments, notes and anything else. It can also use an individual database on an Exchange server, as well.
So to sum this up; It’s a really great phone – Much better than the D500, which was the best phone I’ve ever had!
Give me something new! Please?
I use a danish blog-site called Blogbot from time to time, to update me on, what’s going on, at the danish bloggerscene. You want to know? Valentines day, Drawings of Muhammed and the danish pre-Eurovision Song Contest is what 99% of all blogposts gathered is about. I am bored!
